All tours start and finish at our location in Hayes Valley (click here for Map and Directions). To see tour dates and to book, click here. Prices include bicycle and helmet. You should wear layered clothing and bring a bottle of water.
Duration: 4.5 to 5 hours. Distance: 11-12 miles. Ages 13 and up.
On the Classic, we wiggle through many of the city’s diverse neighborhoods and get to know the personality of each. Neighborhoods include Alamo Square, Nopa, the Panhandle and Golden Gate Park, Haight-Ashbury, Lower Haight, the Castro, the Mission, SoMa, Civic Center, and Hayes Valley (The route varies slightly depending on the day).
We’ll stop for lunch at a local cafe, taqueria (think delicious tacos and burritos), or food trucks. Please note: lunch not included in tour price.
Who this tour is for:
- You want to see many different neighborhoods.
- You want a tour with a lunch stop.
- You can ride a bike 12 miles (19.5 km) at a mellow pace and ascend a few gentle hills (we navigate around the big ones; total elevation gain: 270 ft. or 82 meters). And don’t worry – we make frequent stops, so your legs get plenty of rest.
- You want to see more than our Heart of the City tour, but don’t have the time or energy for the 7×7 tour
Most of the elevation gain is done early in the tour. It is slightly longer than the Heart of the City but doesn’t feel much more difficult. This tour moves at a slower pace than the Bay Roller.
This tour has a 2-person minimum.
We take safety very seriously. Our tours take you on San Francisco’s safest bike lanes, bike routes, and quiet streets. We provide safety instructions before each tour. Helmets (provided) are mandatory.
